Its festive season time in India with all the gods showering their blessings across the country including the Elephant God,the rain gods and all the fun,frolic and economic activity that goes alongwith it. This edition of the monthly newsletter also comes in the backdrop of the hugely successful G 20 summit in New Delhi which saw prominent leaders of the world come together charting out our shared global future.One of the key takeaways for us was that inspite of small disagreements between countries there was a clear framework to work together on a larger economic framework which resulted in the creation of the India EU ME corridor – a successor of the traditional Silk Route. We at Kampani Capital have always believed in the strength of these global tie ups, demonstrated by our partnerships in key geographies like London,Paris, Rome, Dubai and Ireland.
We continue to see enormous interest from global asset allocators like Family Offices, Fund of Funds and HNIs and one of the asset classes they are keenly focusing on is the Indian Startup Ecosystem. A recent report by a global innovation research firm puts India at number 3 in terms of total funding received by startups – behind just the US and China. Some of the exciting sectors where we are seeing early stage capital being allocated to include Fintech 2.0,AI -ML ,IoT, Climate and ESG. While Early stage funds and Angel Networks continue to dominate the investor mix, we are also seeing the emergence of the home-grown family office pump in fresh money in this space.
