Dear friends and well-wishers of Kampani Capital,
This edition of our monthly newsletter comes bang in the middle of the booming festive season in India . The street is now fully lit up with soaring sales of passenger car vehicle ,two wheelers, premium mobile phones, household appliances and televisions just to name a few categories. All this coupled with the booming hospitality and travel industry are making it a year to remember for the Indian economy. It is therefore not a surprise that the Head of Investment Banking of a global bank that supposedly “never sleeps” called India as the Star of Asia.
In all the festive noise we nearly forgot to mention the great moments of joy that Indian sport has created over the last few months. It all started with the Asian Games in September at Hangzhou when India came in with a record medal tally of 107 medals eclipsing the last best of 69 medals by a mile. More importantly India won medals in non traditional events like Sepak Takraw, Roller Skating,Canoeing and Equestrian outside of the usual Boxing, Archery, Shooting and Hockey. While no one can ignore the contribution of the Govt of India Sports Program, the efforts of Corporates like JSW, Reliance, Tata and Adanis are now really coming to the fore. As soon as the flame of the Asiad was extinguished, the Cricket World Cup started in India and the accompanying economic boom is already showing dividends across sectors. Hotels are at near full occupancy, airlines are packed to the brim and restaurants are overflowing with beer guzzling cricket fans. To top it all India is likely to bid for the 2036 Olympics – now that will be one helluva ride!
Let me sign off now by wishing all of you a very “Happy and Prosperous Diwali”. May the lights of Goddess Lakshmi spread wealth, fame, happiness and peace across. We look forward to meeting some of our clients, partners and well-wishers in London and Ireland during our Annual Roadshows there.Maybe we can light a Diya or two with them !
Yours truly
