Dear friends and well-wishers of Kampani Capital,
At the outset let me thank all of you for all the support given to us over the last 6 months – it really feels like a lot longer. It has really been an interesting period for the Indian economy as well as the Global Macro economic outlook. We are seeing signs of a funding winter in international markets coupled with pockets of concern on the global banking side. While some of this could impact fund flow in Indian markets but we can see a lot of areas of resilience in the domestic economy including sectors like aviation , hospitality and logistic infrastructure which we have mentioned in our earlier newsletters. Another area which caught our eye last week was the Electric Vehicles ecosystem given the jump in hiring across all levels in this space and also a lot of focus on ramping up distribution. The Tata group is likely to set up sales showrooms dedicated to its EV suite of cars which makes it the first traditional car maker to do so. While everyone has been concerned about the charging stations for these vehicles in major towns and cities, the Govt as well as the Corporate Sector have addressed this quickly. The Delhi govt has announced 900 EV Charging points at 100 stations to be installed in the next 12 months and firms like BPCL have set up EV Charging points at Petrol Pumps. This is a demonstration of India’s focus on creating infrastructure as well as a signal to global investors that we mean business in the new age sectors as well.
Before I end we must thank all our clients and partners in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and GIFT City for their time during this month. It was really a pleasure spending time with you to understand your requirements better and focus on areas where we can work together. The new financial year is now upon us and we look forward to your continued support as we go into higher gear. Sowmya and I would be meeting some of you soon on our roadshows in Bangalore, Singapore and London as we focus on our goal of bringing the world to India.
Yours truly
