Dear friends and well-wishers of Kampani Capital,
As I write this month’s newsletter I can well and truly say that the “Indian Summer” is right upon us with the mercury touching close to 40 degrees Celsius in some parts of India which is normally happens in the month of April.I can also safely assume that the summer months will also be boost for the travel economy of the country and all the ancillary spends associated with it. We just saw the Tata Group place the single biggest order in the history of aviation when they placed an order of close to 500 planes with Boeing and Airbus. Our homegrown airline Indigo just announced a tie up with Turkish Airlines which gives travellers access to 19 more European destinations. Closer home we saw the inauguration of the Delhi Dausa leg of the Delhi Mumbai highway which dramatically cuts down travel time to cities like Jaipur. We also saw the launch of 2 new Vande Bharat trains from Mumbai. The list can really go on and all these recent developments give a clear message to the global investor community that India continues to invest in infrastructure and will keep pushing the real economy alongwith services and markets. Talking about markets we have all seen the recent volatility but this has not diminished investor sentiment. I saw a recent article which mentioned that Billionaire Wealth in India increased to 400 BN $ from 148 Bn$ over the last 6 years. Infact a large global bank with Asian focus is launching its onshore private banking service this year. Sowmya and I also take this opportunity to thank all our clients and partners for their support over the last 6 months and we look forward to meeting you at our roadshows in Delhi,Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore over the next month in addition to visiting IFSC GIFT City . We feel privileged to be part of the India growth story and look forward to partnering with firms which have global aspirations but India at their core.
Yours truly
