From the CEOs Desk – December 2022
Dear friends and well-wishers of Kampani Capital,
Hope all has been well with you and your family in the last few weeks. I write this newsletter on the morning after the epic World Cup Final with Argentina and France playing out one of the most memorable games of football I can remember. Infact my Whatsapp chats were buzzing with people who normally don’t follow football – clearly this tournament caught a lot of people’s eye and I hope that this can be a turning point for football in India.
I must also talk about the facelift that Mumbai city has got with the G 20 meetings being held here over the last one week. While I admit that the whole city does look rather “decorated”, I have to compliment the vision of the government both at the central level as well as the state level to take the initiative for such a grand global event. I believe that there are 200+ meetings planned at 56 locations over the next 11 months across the entire length and breadth of the country from Leh to Thiruvananthapuram, from Gandhinagar to Kohima! While India’s presidency of the G 20 cant come at a better time for us given the overall positive environment of the country, I feel this will further spur growth for us given the impact on the service sector in the short run – hotels, airlines, cab operators etc. It is also a great opportunity for us to showcase to international investors the overall ease of doing business and vibrant nature of Indian startups.
Before I end I must thank all our clients and partners who have taken out time to connect with us, understanding our focus on India and why we believe India is “A once in a lifetime opportunity” for the next 5 years.I must also thank everyone who supported us at the London and Dubai roadshows as well as all our partners who took out time for the 1st offsite held earlier in the month in Mumbai.
