From the CEO’s Desk – August 2026

Dear friends and well-wishers of Kampani Capital,

Come September (with due respect to the 1961 Classic) and its time for the festive vibes to kick in across India. It does not make a difference if you are in Chennai, Chandigarh or Chiplun, once the Independence Day bugle is blown at the Red Fort – its festival time all across India. This is also possibly one of the reasons why the period from end-August to mid-December is when India’s consumption engines (and corresponding corporate balance sheets) start cranking up to another level. As they say in the Corporate world – H2 is truly the business end of the financial year ! That being said, it will be interesting to see the economic bounce back this year post a number of interesting developments that we saw in the last 6 months. Starting from the Middle East war disruptions to a possible emergence of a new strand of demographic Gen Z thinking – both of which have altered, and will alter the corporate playbook in the years to come.We are looking closely at economic parameters like overseas travel by Indians, automobile sales growth and new hotel sign ups by the large chains to see how things will shape up in the next few months. Fortunately – the early trends seem quite encouraging!.

One of the interesting discussions which we have had over the last few months with some Family Office and Pvt Equity Fund Managers, both in India as well as overseas has been on the Health Care side. We have already seen a large number of PE players getting into the hospital space over the last 5-7 years. It seems that the secondary effects of these investments are now moving down the value chain as we see more companies in the Diagnostics, Medical Equipment, Research and Elder Care space emerging as strong investment opportunities for the years to come. Clearly, a population of 1.4 Bio people will need the best of healthcare to move towards Viksit Bharat in 2047!

In tune with Bharat’s chugging economic engines,Sowmya and I have an ambitious plan to cover our valued investors across multiple geographies both within India (Delhi, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Kochi, Pune) as well as overseas (Singapore, HK, Dubai, Tokyo ,Zurich and Rome). The idea is to spend time with our international and domestic asset allocators and take them through some of the sell side deals – both for growing firms as well as emerging fund managers. We will also be hosting some of our international family office and corporate clients for the 2nd edition of our Ambitious India Roadshows in mid-November, which we hope will be a good forum for the Best of India to meet the Best of the World!

Signing off for this month, we now get ready to welcome Lord Ganesha into our houses for Ganesh Chaturthi ..Ganpati Bappa Morrya!!
